ASSUMPTION OF RISK, RELEASE AND GUARANTEE

hereby declare that I have read and fully understand this disclaimer. As a participant in the jungle trek known as “Elephant Jungle Patrol” between Tangkahan and Bukit Lawang, North Sumatra, Indonesia I fully understand the risks involved and take full responsibility for any personal accident or misfortune that may happen to me during the trek.

I am aware that the Elephant Jungle Patrol under arrangements of Yayasan Ekosistem Lestari (YEL), Fauna & Flora International (FF!), Lembaga Pariwisata Tangkahan (LPT), and Taman Nasional Gunung Leuser (TNGL) and their affiliates involves certain risks and dangers. These include but are not limited to:

• Traveling in mountain terrain, crossing rivers and in the rainforests.

• Accidents or illness in remote regions with little or no medical facilities and without means of rapid paid evacuation.

• Accidents caused by the forces of nature.

• Changes in itinerary due to reasons beyond our control.

• Unpredictable behavior of elephants or other wildlife.

I understand that all wild animals, however well trained or tame they appear to be, can still at times be unpredictable. I therefore agree at all times to abide by the rules and instructions given to me by the elephant handlers (mahouts). I will also do my utmost to remain quiet and calm around the elephants and avoid startling or annoying them in any way. I will avoid placing myself in risk situations, such as between two elephants or between elephants and other "hard" obstacles (rocks, trees, buildings, vehicles etc).

In consideration of the above, and as a consequence of my payment for the right to participate in this trek and the services arranged for me by the aforementioned company, their agents, associates and employees, I assume all the above risks and will hold them harmless from, and defend them against, any and all liability actions, causes of actions, suits, debts, demands and claims of every kind and nature whatsoever, which I now have, or may hereafter arise out of, or in connection with, the trip or participation in activities arranged for me by the aforementioned companies and their subsidiaries, agents and associates. This agreement shall serve as a release and assumption of risk and guarantee for me and my heirs, administrators, executors and all members of my family including any minors accompanying me.

I hereby agree to accept all the above risks, dangers and conditions as well as agree to pay any and all additional costs that may arise as a result.
